Sally Jo Hance

Here is Sally Jo Hance, my maternal great-grandmother, at the age of 9. Despite losing her father at Gettysburg and having a mother with a pack of little girls to raise, she looks very fine here, with her be-ribboned dress and ringlets, all gone to sepia.

    And scrolling down to the Sally Jo as an elder photo--my, you do come from a line of beautiful and strong women, don't you? And I love the careful ringlets in this photo.
