Honey bee, bee honey--

Interior art by Clive Hicks-Jenkins for Thaliad.
I strongly recommend Thaliad by Marly Youmans ... it is a remarkably innovative book in its structure, set in a post-(nuclear?) apocalyptic future, written in the form of an ancient epic, peppered with Greek and biblical references, steadily building towards redemption despite obstacles and hardships throughout.
Thank you, Forager Bee at The Well-Trained Mind...

  1. The sweetness of kindness never gets old does it? Blanche Dubois also understood the wonderful, life-sustaining sweetness of kindness. As for you, Marly, another southern (albeit transplanted) belle, brava! brava! brava!

    1. Well, that is a thought! Not quite sure I have the right genes for a belle, kind sir, but my ancestors did and do insist on tact (and being boiled in metaphysical guilt oil when you were foolish and tactless.) I expect it was good for me.

Alas, I must once again remind large numbers of Chinese salesmen and other worldwide peddlers that if they fall into the Gulf of Spam, they will be eaten by roaming Balrogs. The rest of you, lovers of grace, poetry, and horses (nod to Yeats--you do not have to be fond of horses), feel free to leave fascinating missives and curious arguments.
