“If a man be gracious and courteous to strangers, it shows he is a citizen of the world, and that his heart is no island cut off from other lands, but a continent that joins to them.” -Francis BaconCancelled all my day's events so I can stay home and get over a cold, as I have a drive to Vermont and another to New York City in the coming days. Be peaceful while I'm snuggled up, will you?
Seek Giacometti’s “The Palace at 4 a.m.” Go back two hours. See towers and curtain walls of matchsticks, marble, marbles, light, cloud at stasis. Walk in. Alas, I must once again remind large numbers of Chinese salesmen and other worldwide peddlers that if they fall into the Gulf of Spam, they will be eaten by roaming Balrogs. The rest of you, lovers of grace, poetry, and horses (nod to Yeats--you do not have to be fond of horses), feel free to leave fascinating missives and curious arguments.
WORD VERIFICATION ON TEMPORARILY DUE TO AN AVALANCHE OF SPAM AND INDIGESTION ON THE PART OF THE BALROGS...
ReplyDeleteMarly, do take care and get better quick!
ReplyDeleteWonderful assistant you have there in Pot Boy.
Who would bring her tea and crumpets if not for me?
ReplyDeleteOf course, I may plot another takeover...
Oh, you rascal, Pot Boy...
ReplyDeleteYes, do help Marly get better
Glad I stayed home and skipped music lesson, etc. I am feeling a bit better. Tomorrow is a drudge day. Must get car and truck winterized and so on. Shall bundle up and be warm and maybe get some work done at the dealership. What fun...
ReplyDeleteI need a life assistant (you know, like a wife only without the responsibilities and romance.)
I have The Pot Boy, but he seems to have a mind of his very own...
